I think when it goes from “love yourself no matter the size” to “give up and accept what you are cause no amount of effort will change it” it’s borderline cult-recruitment, which is reflected in how most people who decide to embark on weight loss for whatever reason they decide is worth it get mostly cast aside by the HAES/Fat Acceptance movement. Body positivity is supposed to be there for each and everyone to feel good about their own body, not for anyone to have to feel guilty or a “betrayer” if they decide to lose or gain weight!
