Protein is probably the most important nutrient for a bodybuilder because it’s used by the body to build, repair and maintain your muscle. Supplements play a major role in bodybuilding. So always prefer the best and natural supplements.

What is a good resource for nutritional advice based on workouts and goals? I’ve recently joined the 4 in 10 Challenge and am eating cleaner, but am not sure I’m consuming the right amount of protein.

When I founded https://www.guideyourhealth.org we had an event at a local workout facility. We did a Q and A at the end all the young men kept rephrasing the same question of how many hours of training you needed to get stronger. Finally one of the older trainers said you kids don’t get it, “all you do is tear here, then you sleep and repair.” lol This article reminds me of that.

I am practise running as a hobby and really preciate your comments about avoiding injuries. A couple of friends of mine have already had iliotibial band syndrome, and they needed to rest for several weeks. Excellent blog, congratulations!

I like this blog thanks for sharing it totally depends on the person and how big of a challenge the specific workout was for that particular individual. Age, other physical activity, genetics, body weight, and diet, among other factors, definitely play a role. Rule of thumb: the greater the challenge, the greater the damage to the tissue — which would mean more recovery is needed for healing. Cardio/movement is typically less strenuous for skeletal muscles (which is why people can do it for longer periods of time without needing to rest the muscles being used) than strength training (assuming the weights are heavy enough to sufficiently challenge the muscles that are doing the work) but it would depend on what the person is already used to. Hope this helps.
